2015 Canada Winter Games Branding & Design

I traveled up to Prince George for the full length of the games to experience first hand the Canada Games branding we’ve been working on since February of 2012. It’s been a great adventure! I got to go to all of the events with some of the best views, including sitting on the high dive board at synchronized swimming! In addition, I joined up with the Team BC mission staff to cheer on our athletes! Check out a Canada Games if you haven’t already!

As a start, here are some of the street banner designs you see all over the city!

Below you can see a variety of brand applications photos. From the very beginning we wanted to create a brand that would be flexible for various applications, provide opportunity for building sub-brands, and have a professional, yet youthful look in order to appeal to our athletes.

HERE’S SOME OF OUR HARD WORK!

Mural inside the new Kin Arena at CN Centre: (there are several of them!)

Torch Relay RV vehicle wrap design we did:

All volunteer designs were done in a green theme sub-brand: (to match the green volunteer jackets)

The athlete bib designs: (there were dozens, if not close to 100 variations in colours, shapes & needs for these bibs across all the different sports and male/female cuts).

We did different sets of bib colours for equipment managers, coaches, officials:

Our simplified version of the branding was even on the warming hut!

There were close to 100 of these motor pool cars in different makes & models driving around town with our vehicle wraps on them:

Pull Up Banners:

Flags & fencing seen outside of venues. Shown here is CN Centre, home of the Prince George Cougars.

Poster design at one of the merchandise shops. Our branding appeared on t-shirts, scarves, jackets, hats, gloves, you name it.

These venue markers leave a legacy behind at every venue. This is seen at Tabor Mountain:

Prince George Airport YXS greets visits right away with designs on the Budget Rental desk, along the baggage wall at reception, and paw prints leading your path through the airport.

A large wall mural with some games stats also seen at the airport:

Games closing ceremonies set up at UNBC:

And of course the Canada Games House!

Downtown Prince George recently put up building wraps around town. This is a variation on the Canada Games 2015 branding we were hired to work on, which includes leisure activities and buildings rather than athletes and trees.
