This Relay will retrace the Canadian segment of the original Tour twenty five years ago, but this time one man in motion will be represented by many in motion; engaging 7,000 participants from across Canada who have made their own difference in the lives of others.
Epic Design has worked on a variety of projects for the 25th Anniversary Rick Hansen Relay including a national toolkit of ads, banners, posters and web graphics of various sizes which could be customized to the need of each community. The artwork was an image of Rick Hansen inviting you to join by extending a medal to the audience. This illustration was created by Epic Design. Designs are currently underway to brand the homecoming celebration for the relay – Rick Hansen Celebration 25, held at the PNE Coliseum in Vancouver in May 2012. It will be an incredible event featuring high profile Canadian musicians and presenters – it marks the end of the 25th Anniversary Relay but is meant to inspire the next 25 years.
In addition, Andi Mortenson was recently invited by The Canadian Mint, along with six other artists, to design a Canadian quarter to honour Rick Hansen. After passing through two rounds of review with the judges, Andi’s design was narrowed down to the final two designs.
